VerizonWireless, for R/GA
When we began our engagement with VZW, it was a picture of rapid growth. Years of acquisition, merger,
shifting internal organization, and ambitious product management had created a discontinuous and perplexing
maze of a site. In-store revenues were high, but online sales were stuck in low gear, and customers were
slow to adopt new services. Worse still, the brand - while commonly understood to be the most reliable -
was perceived as behind the times.
What VZW needed was a complete site overhaul, both on the skin and under the hood. With R/GA, Tentosix
developed a new structure that built off of existing capabilities and brand equity but streamlined the
confusing and often incongruous visual language employed by different product groups.
Over two years of phased design and development, not a single page was overlooked: 22 different product
sites were integrated into an updated look and feel, a new global navigation was implemented, the purchase
path was completely rethought and redesigned, and a new microsite template was developed for faster product
rollout. The resulting user experience has increased online revenue and pulled both brand and company into
the 21st century.
